Inota power plant
-
After many years passing in front of it and seeing people posting about it or worse, visiting it or even partying in it my time has finally come. Big thank you to the
@inotafestival team for inviting me to check the exhibition!!
-
I honestly was blown away by the scale of the structures, their look and how rich in details and art works the buildings were. To me it is so cool to see such buildings having a second life and those art works still being intact and mixed with contemporary installations.

The Inota Power Plant was built in the 1950s and became at the time one of Hungary’s major industrial sites. Its complex includes a large turbine hall and three 60-metre high cooling towers.
-
It also included a community centre designed by architect István Szabó which features artworks by Hungarian artists including Gyula Hincz, Géza Fónyi, Endre Rozsda, Aurél Bernáth and Margit Kovács.
-
Since 2023, the former power plant has been home to INOTA Festival, bringing the decommissioned site back to life with electronic music, light installations and contemporary art.
