Today was a blissful day in the studio. I have so much to do, preparing for my upcoming show (eek!) but on days like this I remember that I do this because I love it. I push myself because I love it.

There’s a quote from (in my opinion, a cinematic masterpiece) Sister Act 2, where the main character says “if you wake up in the morning, and all you can think about is singing, then you should be a singer, girl”. And most days I wake up thinking about painting.

It is not always blissful- I become overwhelmed with framing choices, varnishing processes, ordering print packaging, and frustrated that I do not seem to have enough time in the day.

But oh - days like today- to open the window and hear the kids play down the street, while I put my brush to canvas on a new work, yet to take shape! A good day indeed.
