I went to Hush Day Party @hush.stl last Sunday, August 23, at HG Events Downtown, and I have to give credit where it’s due. I see the vision, and I love what they’re bringing to STL nightlife.
From the moment I walked in, I loved the setup. It was clean, chic, elevated, and intentional. The greenery, lounge seating, lighting, and décor all flowed together. There was an actual concept behind it.
But what really got me was when the music switched up.
For a portion of the party, the genre changed, the energy shifted, guests had sparklers, and the whole atmosphere became something different.
Baby, it was giving STL meets Mykonos, and I loved it. I want to see more of that. Play music that fits the theme and vibe. Give us some versatility. Introduce people to sounds they may not normally hear when they go out in STL. It won’t hurt us to step outside of our usual rotation for an hour. #CC

A party and an experience are two different things. An experience is intentional, and the crowd has to participate in the vision too! If there’s a specific theme and we’re given enough notice, lean into it. You don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe or copy the flyer put your own flavor on it! But imagine the setup, music, and production with an entire crowd dressed within the aesthetic. Now you’ve created a moment. We’re quick to say, “STL needs something different.” But when somebody actually gives us something different, we have to be willing to experience something different too. STL nightlife has plenty of room for different, and I’m here for it. Now enough of me talking. I’m Shantelle with VOP.
