Hypnosis students & enthusiasts may enjoy READing this caption:

#Aphonia is the total loss of voice, where a person cannot vocalize sound. Mine was triggered by trauma. The most fascinating part? — It was triggered by IMAGINED trauma.

One thing we learn in clinical training is that **the body and mind may respond to trauma the same whether that trauma is real or imagined.**

Now I get it on a deeper level than ever before. Wow.

Last week I had a MASSIVE nervous system response to an imagined danger.

My body felt like a red hot balloon about to burst with white-water rapids levels of adrenaline coursing through my body, and activating my voice as a weapon — screaming as violently and forcefully as possible — because “I” “thought” someone was breaking into my house.

An imagined danger. There was no intruder.

This occurred around 2am, from a deep sleep. “I” didn’t even “wake up” with any sense of what was happening until my body was already upright and exerting this violent scream.

My conscious mind didn’t come online until about 4-7 seconds in.

**Your conscious mind is always lagging behind your subconscious activity.**

Usually it’s just easy to ignore, or even convince ourselves isn’t so…

Well, next day, a secondary subconscious confusion controlling the body — as if someone pressed the mute button on a remote control.

Real perception of pain.
Real inability to make sounds with my voice.
My conscious mind completely convinced I have a serious physical injury.

Nope.

While self-hypnosis has been obviously valuable to recover my speech, there is a deeper root that requires facilitated clinical hypnotherapy uncover & transform.

Frankly I can’t wait until my session!

I love this sh!t 🤭

Do you have any theories as to why your subconscious didn't want you to use your voice?

I thought about this multiple times last week. Fascinating experience. Talk about a deep trance you were trapped in!

Very, very interesting... Your mind was playing tricks on you look at that. Maybe Larry figure out how to do hypnosis and it just didn't want you to talk for a little bit? He might've wanted to just silence. Cause you do know how to communicate with him in multiple ways you said. Meow.

Glad you are able to speak again. That’s crazy. You’ve lived it. Maybe the silence was meant to show / teach you something?
