The @capilanou Blues are happy to announce D'André Palmer Ormsby's transfer to the men's basketball team!
He is a 6'0" guard from Scarborough, ON, and Columbia Bible College.
Palmer Ormsby: “I chose Capilano University because it gives me the opportunity to grow both academically and athletically. Having already played in this league for two years, I know what it takes to compete in this league. After dealing with some adversity last season, especially when it came to recognition and awards, I’m coming into this year with something to prove. I want to make an impact, and help Capilano win, and make a statement with my play on the court while continuing to build toward my future academically. I also want to thank Coach Klim for believing in me, giving me the opportunity to play here, and welcoming me into the Capilano family. I’m grateful for the opportunity, and I’m ready to make the most of it.”
Coach Klim: "Coming off an outstanding season with the Bearcats, where he was one of the league’s leading scorers, D’Andre brings another dynamic offensive and defensive threat to our roster. On the offensive end, D’Andre’s scoring ability, basketball IQ, athleticism, and skill make him a difficult matchup. He can create opportunities for himself, put pressure on a defense, and provide the type of scoring threat that can change the momentum of a game. But what excites us just as much is what he can bring on the defensive side of the ball. His athleticism, competitiveness, and ability to make plays give him the potential to impact games on both ends of the floor. Whether it’s creating pressure defensively, making things difficult for opposing players, or turning defense into offense, D’Andre gives us another versatile weapon. Most importantly, we’re excited to add a player who we know will compete, work hard, and battle alongside his teammates. His talent is undeniable, but we’re looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish as part of the Blues family. We’ve seen what he is capable of from the other side of the court, and we’re looking forward to seeing him wearing a Blues jersey."
Congratulations, D'André!
