The @CapilanoU Blues are happy to announce D'André Palmer Ormsby's transfer to the men's basketball team!

He is a 6'0" guard from Scarborough, ON, and Columbia Bible College.

Palmer Ormsby: “I chose Capilano University because it gives me the opportunity to grow both academically and athletically. Having already played in this league for two years, I know what it takes to compete in this league. After dealing with some adversity last season, especially when it came to recognition and awards, I’m coming into this year with something to prove. I want to make an impact, and help Capilano win, and make a statement with my play on the court while continuing to build toward my future academically. I also want to thank Coach Klim for believing in me, giving me the opportunity to play here, and welcoming me into the Capilano family. I’m grateful for the opportunity, and I’m ready to make the most of it.”

Coach Klim: "Coming off an outstanding season with the Bearcats, where he was one of the league’s leading scorers, D’Andre brings another dynamic offensive and defensive threat to our roster. On the offensive end, D’Andre’s scoring ability, basketball IQ, athleticism, and skill make him a difficult matchup. He can create opportunities for himself, put pressure on a defense, and provide the type of scoring threat that can change the momentum of a game. But what excites us just as much is what he can bring on the defensive side of the ball. His athleticism, competitiveness, and ability to make plays give him the potential to impact games on both ends of the floor. Whether it’s creating pressure defensively, making things difficult for opposing players, or turning defense into offense, D’Andre gives us another versatile weapon. Most importantly, we’re excited to add a player who we know will compete, work hard, and battle alongside his teammates. His talent is undeniable, but we’re looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish as part of the Blues family. We’ve seen what he is capable of from the other side of the court, and we’re looking forward to seeing him wearing a Blues jersey."

Congratulations, D'André!

The @CapilanoU Blues are happy to announce the transfer of Elijah Bumagat to the men's basketball team!

He is a 6'3" shooting guard from Airdrie, AB, and Keyano College.

Bumagat said, “I am super proud and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Capilano University Blues, academically and athletically. I want to give my thanks to Coach Klim and the entire staff and the team for welcoming me and making me feel at home. I’m ready to continue my journey, grow as a player, compete, and maintain the winning culture in this program with this great group we got. I also want to give thanks to my family, coaches, teammates, friends, and anyone who helped me along the way. I’m ready and excited for the work to come.”

Coach Klim, "We're excited to welcome Elijah Bumagat to the team! Bringing previous CCAA experience to the Blues, Elijah adds valuable experience, versatility, and toughness to our lineup. He will be a big piece for us on both ends of the floor, with the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter and make an impact defensively.

His experience and two-way game will add another dimension to our team, and we’re looking forward to seeing him compete for the Blues!"

The @CapilanoU Blues are happy to announce the signing of Brendan Forrester to the men's basketball team!

He is a 6'5" small forward from North Vancouver, BC, Carson Graham Secondary, and 3D Basketball Academy.

Forrester, "I am excited to get back on the court this season, and I am grateful for the opportunity to play under Coach Klim. I chose Capilano University because it offers a hardworking, family-oriented environment and the opportunity to pursue my academic goals through the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program. I thank all my friends and family who have supported me along the way, and I am ready to put in maximum effort!"

Coach Klim, “The Capilano Blues are proud to announce the commitment of Brendan Forrester, a dynamic shooting guard who is set to make an immediate impact on the program. Brendan brings an exciting blend of elite scoring ability and all-around skill. Known for his knockdown perimeter shooting, he stretches defenses with his range while also possessing the quickness and strength to attack the basket and finish through contact. His ability to create his own shot, combined with strong off-ball movement, makes him a constant threat every time he steps on the floor. Beyond scoring, Brendan contributes across the board. He’s a high-IQ player who sees the floor well, makes smart decisions, and consistently puts himself and his teammates in positions to succeed. Defensively, his energy and competitiveness allow him to guard multiple positions and disrupt opposing offenses. What truly sets Brendan apart is his work ethic and competitive mindset. He plays with passion, toughness, and a team-first attitude, all of which align perfectly with the culture of Capilano Basketball. As he joins the Blues, Brendan is ready to elevate his game at the next level and help push the program forward in a big way. Welcome to the Blues Family, Brendan!”

Congratulations, Brendan!
