Alright, here's the skinny on the new place plus a fantabulous dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Firstly, I'm incredibly happy my dearest friend Philly Joe came down for opening night. It was quite the full circle moment. We are friends because of Jellyrolls. He was even there on closing night. I, of course, was not allowed in. Don't make me say why, you know why!
Let's start with dinner. Yachtsman Steakhouse is a gem. The pull apart bread and roasted garlic to start is delicious. French onion soup, wagyu beef parpadelle, 7 oz filets with peppercorn and miles of sides. It was a feast made for kings and we both deserved it! We even had a drink before with former Jellyrolls bartender P Wynn which made this full circle night even better.
Let's get to Hurly Burly! I am going to be careful with my review. There are a lot of pluses like the new open outside bar for walk up drinks. It blocks the view is the stage and doesn't pump the music outside but it's smart. This is where I feel most of the money will be made because people get drinks and continue on instead of parking themselves inside. The drinks are delicious and they truly made the place beautiful.
The waitlist/line system is like Trader Sam's. I do think this is mainly here for guests in this hotel area. I don't think it's going to be the type of place you'd sit all night like Jellyrolls was. It's not made to get crazy. The crowd was extremely mellow. It seems like the kind of place you'd get a drink or 2, watch a set, and move onto what's next in your night which probably is bed since the adult entertainment is 9-1 and it isn't continuous like a piano bar. I do think all of this is by design and it's exactly what it's meant to be. I'm so curious your thoughts and please ask anything.
I appreciate all the people who were kind to me that recognized me. The opening of this new place was a nice closure for me on the past and makes me so grateful for the wonderful new beginnings that continue to come!

Totally agree - people won’t linger all night. It feels like it was intentionally curated so people would stay for a set or two and then move on. It’s nice that it’s open until 1am though.

I can’t help that everyone loves me/us. Everyone minus our server at yachtsman, I don’t know if I scared her or she just hated me or both but I just wanted to negotiate. I don’t think that’s too much to ask! She’s the one who said we could negotiate after all! Very good and honest review of the Hurly Burly and I have to agree with all of it. The drinks and the staff were top notch for sure. Great night and much deserved agree there too! Logical thinking prevails again! Tomorrow night the real entertainment will be at the boathouse in springs, that’s a fact!

Still wish Jellyrolls was there. It was so much fun singing at the top of our lungs. So many good memories there with friends and family. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience there.
