19 days agoAs a trip designer, I find people don't plan the right way. They focus so much on the itinerary and forget to learn anything about the destination and culture before going. This is the most important part imo because if you understand this, it opens up more doors to local connections and discovery!
20 days agoTotally agree. We have recently started traveling with our kids, and it's interesting to see how much they assume is planned. And also to see what they suggest/ask for when we have unplanned time. We've had some great experiences by being able to shrug and say "sure, why not."
20 days agoI like to know where I’m sleeping and have some ideas for the day but YES some of the best meals and activities have come from the recommendations of a store clerk or hotel employee or waiter 🙌
20 days agoThis is so true! I never really try to plan food spots and love just being guided to try places where I am
20 days agoI like to do a bit of both. Some of my favourite travel memories were discovering a castle ruin and a fantastic restaurant down a wee street on a Greek island . I think we’ve done more research since we’ve had kids, especially for activities & restaurants
20 days agoYessss whole heartedly agree with this! Stumbling upon a hidden gem is sometimes the best part of an adventure
20 days agoCompletely agree! Definitely something my type A brain struggles with but getting better 😅 great post 👏❤️
20 days agoWe’re trying to get better at not over planning! It’s so true that some of the best moments are the ones that weren’t planned.
