It was such a lovely surprise to bump into one of Ottawa’s legends, Eugene Haslam, who played an important role in shaping the ByWard Market’s entertainment and social scene.
Eugene owned and operated the legendary Zaphod Beeblebrox, which sadly closed its doors in 2017. I have so many wonderful memories of that very special place and the incredible energy it brought to the Market.
It was wonderful to see Eugene out enjoying another social gathering. After all these years, it’s clear that Ottawa—and especially the ByWard Market—still holds a special place in his heart. ❤️
