It was such a lovely surprise to bump into one of Ottawa’s legends, Eugene Haslam, who played an important role in shaping the ByWard Market’s entertainment and social scene.

Eugene owned and operated the legendary Zaphod Beeblebrox, which sadly closed its doors in 2017. I have so many wonderful memories of that very special place and the incredible energy it brought to the Market.

It was wonderful to see Eugene out enjoying another social gathering. After all these years, it’s clear that Ottawa—and especially the ByWard Market—still holds a special place in his heart. ❤️

Today, Tajine Ottawa had the honour of celebrating Moroccan Throne Day 🇲🇦✨

Our owner and Malika were honoured to attend this special occasion alongside members of the Moroccan community, following an invitation from Her Excellency Souriya Otmani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Canada.

As a Moroccan restaurant, sharing our culture goes beyond the flavours we bring to the table it is also about celebrating our heritage, traditions, and the community that connects us. ❤️
