So, where do you actually start when you want to write a novel?

For me, it started with a question.

What if the stories my dad told me were actually true?

He had a way of telling stories that made you wonder where fact ended and imagination began. And at some point, I found myself thinking… what if they really were true?

That one question became the spark for my novel.
I didn’t have all the answers. I didn’t even have the whole story.
But I had an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about.
And sometimes, I think that’s where a novel starts.
Not with a perfect plot.
Not with a detailed outline.
Just one what if…
So that’s where I’m starting.

Now I just have to turn that question into an actual book. 😳📖✍️
Follow along as I figure it out, one chapter at a time.

This has a little Big Fish in it, the story of a son trying to work out which of his dad's wild tales were real 👀 Some of the best books start with a parent who told stories bigger than life 💛

Your dad sounds like a good basis for a character

I really love the way you described this. Sometimes all it takes is one “what if” to spark an entire story. Wishing you the best as you bring this one to life 🙌👏🏻🔥
