FIVE HUNDRED MILES
500/500
August 31st โ September 29th.
Started a day early. Finished a day early.
30 days. 500 miles.
Let me be real, this did not happen alone.
I had people in my corner pushing me to find a greatness inside myself. Did I know I could do it? Yes. But to the ones that stood beside me when this shit got hardโฆ thank you.
I learned a lot about what it really takes to keep a promise to yourself.
Week 3 my body was failing me. I couldnโt sleep more than 2 hours a night. Everything I ate I threw back up. I had a fever every night for 2 days.
I really thought it was over.
I thought I had finally found the wall I couldnโt get through.
Then a great friend
@theycallmetoe told me,
โremember who the fuck you are.โ
And for some reasonโฆ that was all I needed.
I got up and kept going.
Week 4 I ran 125 miles with over 2K of elevation. Further than Iโve ever pushed myself in my life.
This challenge wasnโt me out here waving my ego in anybodyโs face. I wasnโt trying to prove I was better than anybody.
I needed to do this for me.
I made myself a promise.
500 miles.
And I kept it.
In only a couple weeks my family will be growing. Iโll have a baby boy ๐ฅน
And when I really think about why I do all this shitโฆ itโs them.
I just want to be somebody my children can look at and be proud to call Dad. I want them to see that when life gets hard, you donโt have to fold. You fight. You figure it out. You find another way.
I just want this body to be strong enough to carry whatever weight my family needs me to carry, so they donโt have to.
Thatโs it.
Everything else is noise.
