When you choose me as your professional officiant, you’re not just choosing me to be a public speaker. The ceremony development process can be SO fun and creative. Writing a ceremony that is unique to the couple and their story is something that I'm truly passionate about. Whitney and Angela’s ceremony was such a beautiful example of that.

As we worked through their story, we kept returning to a sailboat off the coast of Maine. It had been part of some of their most meaningful moments together, and the coast itself felt woven into the life they were building. They had mentioned wanting to include something similar to a handfasting ceremony, and a nautical knot tying felt like the perfect fit! But we wondered if we could make it even more personal. So we reached out to the sailboat company and asked whether they would be willing to donate a piece of rope from the boat. They said YES!

Suddenly, the rope they would use to tie their knot carried a little of their history with it. A piece of a place they loved became part of the moment they promised their future to one another.

That is the kind of detail I love helping couples discover. A meaningful place, a shared tradition, an inside joke, or something that might seem small at first can become one of the most memorable parts of your ceremony. You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed idea. You can say, “We’d love to include something personal, but we’re not sure what,” and we can figure it out together.

You bring your story, I’ll bring the questions and ideas! With years of experience and a little creativity, I’ll help turn what matters most to you into a ceremony that feels completely your own!
