Hi, hello! If you're new here, I'm Chelsea, owner and lead officiant of The Marrying Jane. I'm your professional third wheel, calmer of last minute nerves, and the first person down the aisle! 2026 has been our most incredible season to date. We have worked with some amazing humans, welcomed another officiant to our team, traveled all over New England and laughed A LOT along the way. And it's not over! We're headed into our busiest Fall yet with 2027 dates booking up fast. The really exciting part? Growing our team means we have more dates available next year. Which means more couples, more good times, and more ceremonies that actually sound like the people getting married. Because that will always be the whole point around here. No copy and paste ceremonies. No standing at the altar wondering who your officiant is talking about. Just your story, your people, your personality, and creating a moment that gives you permission to take a deep breath and actually enjoy the fact that YOU’RE GETTING MARRIED! I started this business with one goal: to create wedding ceremonies that feel completely personal to the couple getting married. Ceremonies that tell your story, sound like you, make your people feel all the feels, and most importantly, give you a chance to actually be present for one of the biggest moments of your life. So, hi again. I’m Chelsea. I still can’t believe I get to call this my job, and I’m very excited about where The Marrying Jane is headed next. 2027 couples, we're so excited to meet you! @ericawarrenphoto #weddingofficiant #justiceofthepeace #weddingceremony #vows #ido New England Wedding Officiant Custom Wedding Ceremonies Vows Personalized Ceremony by @themarryingjane
Everyone knows the saying “everything happens for a reason”. But have you ever had those moments in your life where things fall into place in a way that makes you truly believe it? This past weekend, I had the honor of marrying a dear friend of mine. When Airelle approached me about possibly marrying her and John, the man who had become such an incredible part of her life, my weekend was already fully booked. While it absolutely should NOT have worked, she managed to find the one pocket of time where we could make it happen. And with the locations not too far apart, it felt exactly as if it was meant to be all along. Arielle has always been one of those people who makes me believe that some souls are simply more connected to the universe than others. She’s an old soul, with an understanding of people and the world around her that I’ve always found incredibly special. Being in her presence feels like sunshine. She has a warmth and kindness about her that I always knew would take a pretty extraordinary person to match. And then John entered the chat. Everything about the two of them just made perfect sense. To have known Arielle for so many years, to see the love she and John have found in one another, and then to be the person who got to stand beside them as they became husband and wife was a privilege I’ll never forget. Some weddings mean a little extra to your heart, and this was certainly one of them. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Rose! I’m so grateful I got to play a small part in your beautiful story and capture a few little moments from a day that meant so much. @margaretclaraphoto @ariellemv28 @fromscratchbakingco by @themarryingjane
An absolutely elegant celebration at the @fairmontcopley where rich burgundy tones, glowing candlelight and gold accents came together to create the most romantic atmosphere! Every detail felt classic, sophisticated and full of warmth. A beautiful reflection of their love story, set against one of Boston’s most iconic venues. a snippet from avery and nate’s wedding film. I really love everything about this scene. my favorite part is right when avery gets to the top of the aisle, she catches nate wiping a tear and just gives him the softest smile. I also really love what their officiant, chelsea @themarryingjane says. when I laid down her audio on this specific part of the song (an absolute favorite of ours btw) and listened back, I got chills. if you’d like to watch their full film, it’s live on our youtube :) venue @cliffhousemaine planning and design @nicolemowerevents photography @henryandmac videography @jayandmack officiant @themarryingjane tintype photo @agno3lab stage and dance floor wrap @fantasydancefloors ceremony music @blackstonevalleyentertainment band / swing / dj @gye.band @dangabelmusic rentals @peakeventservices / @kadeemarentals draping @mainedesignanddecor lighting @catchlightdesign florist @minkaflowers stationary @callidoradesign cake @bigfish_cakestudio hair and makeup @jennifercnieman by @themarryingjane
After taking some time to introduce the newest face around here, it only feels right to turn the spotlight back to someone who has already spent another incredible season standing beside our couples. If you’ve had Ren as your officiant, you already know there’s something about the way she tells a story. She listens closely, catches the little details that make a relationship what it is, and somehow turns them into a ceremony that feels remarkably like the two people standing in front of her. She’s thoughtful and warm, an incredible writer, a confident speaker, and funny enough to have your guests laughing before she brings them right back into the heart of the moment. And that is exactly why she belongs at The Marrying Jane. When she isn’t standing at the end of an aisle somewhere beautiful in New England, she’s teaching middle school English, raising a curious toddler, wrangling two giant dogs, and exploring the Seacoast with her husband. We’ve been so lucky to have Ren representing The Marrying Jane and caring for our couples with the same thoughtfulness and intention this business was built on. And with another season ahead of us, I’m just really dang grateful I get to keep sharing this work with her! @ericawarrenphoto @renmarryingjane New Hampshire Wedding Officiant New England Wedding Ceremonies Vows Custom Ceremony Personalized Dream Team by @themarryingjane
When you choose me as your professional officiant, you’re not just choosing me to be a public speaker. The ceremony development process can be SO fun and creative. Writing a ceremony that is unique to the couple and their story is something that I'm truly passionate about. Whitney and Angela’s ceremony was such a beautiful example of that. As we worked through their story, we kept returning to a sailboat off the coast of Maine. It had been part of some of their most meaningful moments together, and the coast itself felt woven into the life they were building. They had mentioned wanting to include something similar to a handfasting ceremony, and a nautical knot tying felt like the perfect fit! But we wondered if we could make it even more personal. So we reached out to the sailboat company and asked whether they would be willing to donate a piece of rope from the boat. They said YES! Suddenly, the rope they would use to tie their knot carried a little of their history with it. A piece of a place they loved became part of the moment they promised their future to one another. That is the kind of detail I love helping couples discover. A meaningful place, a shared tradition, an inside joke, or something that might seem small at first can become one of the most memorable parts of your ceremony. You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed idea. You can say, “We’d love to include something personal, but we’re not sure what,” and we can figure it out together. You bring your story, I’ll bring the questions and ideas! With years of experience and a little creativity, I’ll help turn what matters most to you into a ceremony that feels completely your own! Years ago, after officiating a handful of rainy wedding days, I couldn’t help but experience, first hand, the disappointment couples can carry when the forecast doesn’t look the way they imagined it would. The weather is one of the few parts of a wedding day we have absolutely no control over. We certainly can’t predict it a year in advance. Often, not even a few days in advance. So I decided that if the rain was going to show up, we were going to acknowledge it. I always stay flexible enough to add a few words to the beginning of the ceremony that recognize the weather while also highlighting the symbolism and beauty that can come with a rainy wedding day. It’s a small thing, but I’ve found it can completely shift the way a couple feels about the moment they’re standing in. One year ago, Sadie and Kevin had one of those rainy wedding days, and it remains one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever had the privilege of being part of. Story Box Films captured it in the most breathtaking, cinematic way. With immense excitement, I am thrilled to officially announce the newest addition to The Marrying Jane team, Connor Barry! Whenever I imagined growing this team, I knew I would be incredibly particular about who joined us. It was important to me that any new officiant not only shared our vision, but could provide the same thoughtful, personalized experience that Ren and I have worked so hard to make the standard for every couple we've worked with. Connor could not be a more perfect fit. As an experienced wedding officiant with a background in writing and public speaking, Connor brings warmth, confidence, and a natural gift for storytelling to every ceremony he creates. He believes, as we do, that your ceremony should be unique to you as a couple! Your relationship, your dynamic, your humor, and your hopes for the life you're building together. Connor will work alongside you to craft a ceremony that tells your story with intention and deliver it with the kind of ease and confidence that allows you to simply be present in the moment. You deserve to stand up there feeling grounded, celebrated, and completely yourselves. And I know Connor will make sure you do. We are so incredibly excited for this next chapter of The Marrying Jane and even more excited for all of the couples who will get to experience having Connor by their side. Welcome to the team, Connor! @ericawarrenphoto by @themarryingjane
In the day-to-day hustle and bustle of life, I don’t always have a chance to appreciate just how fast the year has gone by until I’m looking back at weddings from last season and realize some of my couples are already coming up on their first anniversary! WHAAT?! 🤯 Fall wedding season will forever be one of my favorites. The changing colors, crisp air, warm light, and that smell outside when you can just tell the seasons are shifting (you know that smell, right!?) Fall is always reminding us that time is moving, things are changing, and there is so much beauty in taking a moment to notice it. Happy almost anniversary to all my past Fall couples out there!! And to my 2026 Fall couples… It’s finally heeeere!! 🍂 Photography: @jacquelynpotter Florals: @ofthefieldsfloral Officiant: @themarryingjane Venue: @nonantumresort_kennebunkport @nonantum_events Entertainment: @thesweetbeatsband @courtneystarz New England Wedding Officiant Custom Ceremony Vows by @themarryingjane
