We're doing it again this Sunday! Bring a book, grab a seat, and be among other book lovers on Sunday October 4th for the next meeting of the Books in Bars Reading Society, 6pm-9pm at Blue Stallion Brewing. For those new to the whole shebang, this isn’t a book club. You read any book you want, show up anytime you want, interact with others or not- the event is simply an opportunity to do your own reading thing with others doing their own reading thing. We’ve got the loft space reserved, but Sunday nights at Blue Stallion have typically been really chill, and there’s all kinds of space to spread out. If the weather is as lovely as promised, I will out on that patio. And don’t forget, Blue Stallion has a little in-brewery free library by the front door, so if you hate the book you brought with you- or simply forgot to bring it- there’s a shelf that might have your next favorite book sitting there waiting for you. Also, don't forget that the day before, Blue Stallion will be doing their book swap. This happens every Saturday, coinciding with the Sunday book group thing. Chicago Marathon adalah lari 42K ketiga aku, dan ternyata bener ya, setiap marathon punya ceritanya sendiri. Kemarin matahari sudah terasa terik sejak satu jam pertama (yang sungguh di luar dugaan, karena mestinya sudah masuk fall season 🫣). Perjuangan pun terasa semakin darderdor setelah kilometer 30. Langkah mulai terasa berat. Belum lagi melihat pelari-pelari lain yang mulai berjalan, ada yang kram, muntah, bahkan terlihat begitu kelelahan. Bener-bener mental game! Di titik itu, tantangannya bukan cuma soal fisik, tapi juga bagaimana meyakinkan diri sendiri untuk nggak menyerah dan terus melangkah. Tapi di sepanjang perjalanan, aku jadi diingatkan bahwa bahkan di saat-saat tersulit sekalipun, selalu ada hal yang bisa disyukuri. The Riil Support that reminds me: I’m not alone. 🤍 Ada Gempi dan keluarga, ditemani Indra, yang berusaha menemukan titik untuk ketemu aku di mile 3, 12, dan 21. Aku yakin nggak gampang buat mereka harus berpindah-pindah di tengah keramaian, dengan banyaknya jalan yang ditutup selama event ini..trimakasih ya kalian.. -walau abis itu semua kecapean banget berasa ikut race jg tp larinya ditempa berbeda yah? Hahaha Ditambah lagi Madurasa yang selalu Gempi sodorin buat aku setiap kali kami bertemu. Sederhana, tapi Riil madunya jadi Riil energy booster yang bikin aku makin semangat melanjutkan langkah. Dukungan juga datang dari orang-orang yang ada di kiri kanan jalan buat cheering’in keluarga dan teman-teman mereka, jg para marshal, sampai sesama pelari yang saling menguatkan lewat kata-kata sederhana. And of course, teman-teman yang mendukung dari jauh. Mereka yang mungkin nggak hadir secara fisik, tapi selalu punya cara untuk menunjukkan bahwa mereka ada. Trimakasih ya, u know who u are🥹 Thank you for being part of this journey. Every little gesture, every encouraging word, and every bit of support meant more than you know. 🤍 Karena pada akhirnya, bukan cuma tentang seberapa jauh kita berlari, tapi juga tentang siapa dan apa yang menemani kita sepanjang perjalanan.
