I played the album that has both Lullaby for Laika and Fantasia for Félicette on loop the other day for my son's nap and he's never gone down quicker. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Laika was a stray dog among many who were the first to go past the carman line. Laika is only remembered as she was the first to actually go on a mission and it not being canceled. Others like Bars and Lesischka were others also not to survive, as their rocket exploded on the launch pad. Some dogs would survive and return from their missions, and some pups were even gifted to the US presidents daughter at the time. Sure, Laika, was the first, but not the only among about almost twenty other dogs!
