they’re home. 🌕

bringing these songs to life has been an experience full of wonder and heartbreak and tenderness.

I want to give some enormous, heartfelt thanks to the people who helped make these songs what they are.

to Sam of @wejustmet.band, for producing them with so much care, patience, and attention. to @elliekashinn (also of @wejustmet.band), for the gorgeous backing vocals that brought another whole dimension of warmth to these songs. to @simonwesleymusic, for the beautiful piano arpeggios in the instrumental section of Fantasia for Félicette. to @piperdotmom, for taking on so much of the invisible, behind-the-scenes work that goes into turning “I made some songs” into an actual music release haha. I truly could not have done this without you.

and to all my patrons over at Starbird Records: thank you. it’s a dream of mine to someday be able to sustain myself by making music, and because of you all, that dream feels a little more real and a little more within reach every day.

and finally, thank you, for listening. for giving these songs a place in your hearts and souls and lives. I hope they bring you something good.

go give your friends (human or otherwise) a hug for me, yeah?

some photos (by the impeccable @philipromanonyc) from the Laika / Félicette release show at @balanceartscenter! it was such a joy to share these songs & meet some very kind listeners.

extremely cool thing that happened this time around: folks dressed up! on theme! in gorgeous blues & purples & shimmers & sparkles & stars. I felt like I totally missed the memo by comparison lol

thank you thank you thank you for welcoming these starry little songs into your hearts, playlists, etc. I am so endlessly grateful ⭐️ by @ellispipermusic

a bit of Lullaby for Laika live from the release show in NYC last weekend ☆

I’m trying this new thing called “being brave” which largely entails posting unedited live takes…

Upon recently becoming an Albany local, singer-songwriter Ellis Piper sat down with Justin Friello to discuss a pretty wide range of topics in their career — Laika the dog and Felicette the cat from the Soviet space program, who are also the subjects of Piper’s latest singles, social media strategies, musical inspirations, figuring it out live, and more. Head to our website to read the interview now. by @ellispipermusic
