The Beard screened at @calabasasfilmfest in the @awd_directors block and won the Audience Award!
The collection of films in this block were incredibly brilliant and funny and scary and heartening. All made by wildly talented female directors who are a part of an organization (AWD) I love so much.
It was a shock and an honor for our film to be selected by a group of strangers and soon-to-be friends, in a room where we knew no one. And it’s something I’m holding close to my heart.
In a season of my life where I feel so far from my creative self, it was a joy to be reminded that I’m on the right path. With so, so many, of the right people.
@nate.raven and @rick_raven I’m forever grateful you trusted me to come alongside you and support the creation of this powerful and poignant piece. Its story is more important now than ever and its themes continue to resonate with audiences everywhere we go. And a huge congrats and shoutout to the entire Beard team! Your work on this was beautiful. Sensitive and delicate and daring, and audiences are taking note.
