Duane "Keffe D" Davis was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years to life for the murder of Tupac Shakur 30 years ago. He has 731 days of credit for time already served toward his sentence. Davis, a former leader of the Southside Compton Crips gang, was found guilty of first-degree murder on August 31 for plotting the 1996 killing of the rap mogul near the Las Vegas Strip. He remains the only person ever charged in the death of Shakur, who was 25 and at the height of his career when his life ended. For nearly three decades, the case remained unsolved: No murder weapon was ever recovered, law enforcement officials struggled with tight-lipped witnesses abiding by the gangs' "code of the streets," and as year after year passed, any physical evidence that might have existed slowly faded away. But as those years went by, a new form of evidence emerged around which prosecutors would eventually build their case: Davis' own words. He spoke openly in interviews, documentaries and podcasts about his involvement in Shakur's death and released a 2019 memoir recounting his version of events. Homemade brown butter banana cookies 🍪 Ingredients: - 1/2 cup brown butter (113g) - 1/3 cup granulated sugar (67g) - 1/2 cup brown sugar (110g) - 1 room temperature egg - 1 tbsp vanilla extract - 1/4 cup mashed banana (I just mashed one banana) - 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour (150g) - 1/2 tsp baking soda - 1/4 tsp cinnamon - pinch of salt - chocolate chips Instructions: In a pot, melt butter until it burns and turns brown and cool for 10 minutes and be cool to the touch. Once cooled, put into mixing bowl and combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and banana (warm up so it’s easier to blend together) and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and set aside. In a separate bowl for dry ingredients, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt and mix well. Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix SLOWLY until you reach 3/4 of mixture and chocolate chips. Fold in ingredients until everything is evenly distributed throughout the dough. Freeze for 30 minutes. Once it’s cold, mold dough into balls and put on baking sheet spread apart 2”. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake cookies for 13-15 minutes. Once baked and cookies are still warm, press on extra toppings for more decoration. Cool completely and enjoy! #homemade #baking #Recipe #desserts #cookies
