Saying goodbye to our missionary 🥹 One last morning in our home that has held the five of us the last two years. I reflected all morning on how our baby is all grown up and the significant role he has always played in our family. I reflected on how the last two years have been so hard but have made our family so close. We will never look at life the same way and that is both heartbreaking and a gift in the same breath. I reflected on all the ways that our kids have shown up for each other and their mama in bigger ways than they even realize. How it’s shaping them into the beautiful people they are and will continue to become. I reflected on the ways that Turin has filled in for his incredible dad in ways I would never have expected or asked. Just 5 days before he left he helped me carry his brother to the car as we rushed to the emergency room. I watched in the rear view mirror as he held his brother with tears streaming down his face pleading for heavenly help in awe of the man he has become. I can’t even imagine how proud his dad must be of his son🥹 In awe of his cousins, uncles who have already shown up in preparation that big brother won’t be able to be here for the next few years 🥹 God reminding us that he’s got us forever and always. And that Justin is watching over us and sending help in every way he can. How proud I am of Turin giving up two years of his life to God and to serve others. I have been in awe of his courage and strength. He left on September 10th, our 21st wedding Anniversary. I don’t believe in coincidences and believe it is a gift to our family that he starts his mission on that day. That he will work hand in hand with his dad who is doing missionary work on the other side. Saying goodbye was gut wrenching for all of us 💔 We will miss him so much every single day. On to the next big adventure 🇮🇹🙏🏻
