Every year on this day, I put this jar with little pieces and dust from the twin towers out to remember that day on 9/11. They came from the pile of girders lying on the side on the street where tower 1 once stood. I’ve displayed this every year since I scooped this up with my hand & put it in this jar to remind me how precious life can be & to deeply think about what we take for granted. While many of us say that life is short & do that extra shot, take that risk for the 1st time, it also means soak up what’s loving to you, what’s stable & what is safe because everything can be gone within an instant. Respect what you have because every single one of the family members of the people who lost their lives that morning never thought for one second it was the last time they’d see their husbands, wives or children. To this day the pain is unbearable to them. Our good friend & fellow surfer Richie Allen was lost. So go & be good. Go love each other. Deeply and truly love each other. #911memorial
