OMG! In my new fitness journey one thing I’ve had to learn how to do is match a calorie budget that sometimes feels absolutely impossible. There have been many times I’ve gone to bed fully stuffed after eating all day and I’m still in 1000 cal deficit. Today I think I broke my whole taste blood system. This is fried shrimp in a pan, but instead of using breadcrumbs, I used butternut squash and cooked it until it caramelized, then crushed it with a fork, and then added my shrimp and it battered it in the most creamy buttery sauce. I think I’ve ever had on a shrimp outside of some kind of fettuccine Alfredo. This was an epic lunch, bon appétit! by @brookinsane

I’m beyond stoked! I’ve worked so hard to get myself in better shape & today I was blown away. Not only did I blow my goal out of the water, I scored two new Photography clients & started my day with a beautiful walk through Capitola Ca. I started out at about 235-238lbs & today the scales blew my mind. I haven’t weighed anywhere near this since I was in my early 20’s. Today was a good day. Every year on this day, I put this jar with little pieces and dust from the twin towers out to remember that day on 9/11. They came from the pile of girders lying on the side on the street where tower 1 once stood. I’ve displayed this every year since I scooped this up with my hand & put it in this jar to remind me how precious life can be & to deeply think about what we take for granted. While many of us say that life is short & do that extra shot, take that risk for the 1st time, it also means soak up what’s loving to you, what’s stable & what is safe because everything can be gone within an instant. Respect what you have because every single one of the family members of the people who lost their lives that morning never thought for one second it was the last time they’d see their husbands, wives or children. To this day the pain is unbearable to them. Our good friend & fellow surfer Richie Allen was lost. So go & be good. Go love each other. Deeply and truly love each other. #911memorial by @brookinsane
