@emilystellafletcher: Hiii! I’m still wearing my sunglasses from last year.

Me: Well, you’re in luck, because you’re about to get this year’s.

I pull a pair out of my bag and ask if I can take her photo. She walks a few steps away.

Me: Strike a pose that represents how you’re feeling in this chapter of life. (Picture #1)

I remember one of my first substantive conversations with Emily happened at Burning Man in 2012. I don’t remember exactly what we talked about. I just remember having the thought: It feels really nice to be in conversation with her.

I know her pretty well now, and when I biked up to her this year, I had the thought:

Man, you feel great.

Emily is deep in the worlds of tantra, mindfulness, and energy work, and she’s one of those people who seems to truly embody what she practices.

She reverberates the frequency of an ecstatic existence.

It’s a beautiful way to move through the world.
