There was a time when nursing felt like a calling. 🩺🤍

We were proud of the work.
We wanted to make a difference. ✨
We believed caring deeply would always be enough. 🫶🏼

But somewhere between unsafe assignments, missed lunches, endless charting, short staffing, mandatory overtime, and being asked to do more with less… something changed. 🚨📋⏰😔

Not because nurses stopped caring.

We still notice the fear behind a patient’s questions. 🥺
We still hold hands when families receive devastating news. 🤝💔
We still stay late because we can’t leave something unfinished. 🏥🌙
And we still carry certain patients home in our hearts. 🩺💭

But caring should not require sacrificing our health, our families, our peace, and every part of ourselves. 🧠💙🏠

Nobody grieves what nursing has become more than the nurses who remember what it once felt like. 😢

We didn’t stop caring. 🤍

We simply became tired of being asked to prove it by breaking ourselves. 🫶🏼💔

If you once loved nursing but barely recognize it now, you are not alone. 💙 Share this with a nurse who needs to feel understood today. 📲✨

Don’t forget our bodies. many have to leave the profession due to injuries. We don’t have presumptive eligibility and we don’t get to retire at 55 like a lot of other professions.

I’ve always said that Big Business has no place in healthcare. But now it’s all business covered with awards and standings. Stay healthy yall

All mothers are unpaid nurses to our own children, parents and friends

Retired 7yrs ago after 46yrs as a nurse. Loved every minute of it but it breaks my heart to see how the NHS is struggling. Nurses are on their knees while politicians play lip service to our needs.

I left the O.R. after 32 yrs in November of 2019. Right before COVID. I dodged a big bullet and I don't regret it.

Left. Didn’t look back. Tired of being part of a broken system, rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic on a daily basis. And now RN’s are being replaced by medical assistants, some of whom have trained for 6 weeks and are often referred to as ‘ the nurse’. Shameful.

Let’s talk about what no one else is saying: Senior nurses deliberately make the lives of new nurses more difficult on purpose. It’s the one career where women don’t uplift each other.
