Omar’s been standing up in the vitiligo advocacy space for a long time and it’s been an honour to watch him empower himself and those around him. His point has always been beautifully simple. Everybody’s dealing with something, and the hard thing doesn’t have to be the whole story. There’s places to go, people to be around, and a life to keep living. Big love always, Omar.

My Aunt Colleen had that. I remember c her doing self tanner and my amazing Uncle Dan would always help support her with it. 😍🥰 I miss her so much! She passed almost two years ago!

Most definitely. We're going to feel what we feel but one step at a time, for me, does work. You're definitely putting yourself out there and I admire that.

Tbh I'm jealous of those with vitiligo... Your skin is beautiful and so unique... Don't let anyone tell you that it looks bad.

You got that right! We have to live our lives... And that's why I try to post meaningful and positive videos on my Instagram page related to vitiligo because I know that even though I was diagnosed with vitiligo almost 30 years ago, it does NOT CONTROL ME. It does not make me want to stay inside all day because of the fear and insecurity factor. Over 17 years ago, I made up my mind that vitiligo was not going to cripple me in any way. I made up my mind that I was going to live my life and if people have questions, I will answer them accordingly.. there comes A time In your life where you just have to make up your mind to keep going, no matter how difficult it is to climb that mountain. You have to have this mindset of victory and get rid of that "victim mentality" because the victim mentality isn't going to do anything for you but make you even more depressed. Live your life in such a way that you get to inspire other people so when they see you, they have HOPE and that's what I want to do. I want people to look at my life and say, hey "If Lisa can do it, then I can do it.. If she could overcome this, I could overcome this" and that's a pretty cool thing. Like you said, we all struggle with something. We all have the same 24 hours in the day to live and to make our lives better for ourselves and for the people around us. With that being said Omar, you truly are an inspiration my brother and I wish you nothing but continued success!
