A trap that is easy to fall into especially while you’re young is letting stimuli decide for you. But even well-intended counsel can steer you into decisions and feelings you might have otherwise never felt, or even enable toxic habits. This is why your feedback loops are important and to be taken with a grain of salt. Supportive words of advice provide comfort, but these should never be pivotal to your moral compass, nor decision-making. They should only be treated as more data to work with. Your surroundings, your social circles and familiar safety nets are complimentary to your life, not your decision makers. Otherwise, what is a life if only written by others?
