Hawea River appreciation. The new trail on the true right is wonderful. Hints of summer in the air today and the first magpie bombing of the season.

"I remember thinking right then and there, my life just changed forever. I'm going to be an actor." Chris Pratt is looking back at the unlikely moment that launched his Hollywood career, and it all starts while he was living in a van in Hawaii and waiting tables at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. The actor recalls approaching actress Rae Dawn Chong when she walked into the restaurant. She asked if he can act, and Pratt jumped at the opportunity. Days later, he got a call about auditioning for her movie, despite never having read a script before. He landed the role, but there was one problem: The movie was filming in Los Angeles, and Pratt had just $60 to his name, a bag of clothes, and some rollerblades. Chong offered to fly him out, giving him the break that eventually leads to "Parks and Recreation," "Guardians of the Galaxy," and a career as one of Hollywood's biggest stars. Pratt says he'll forever be grateful to Chong for taking a chance on a kid working at a shrimp restaurant.
Responsibility is a skill built over time with lots and lots of practice and mistake making along the way. It requires you to step back so your child has the opportunity to step up. Big thank you to @raise_thinkers for the wonderful inspiration!
