Storyboards from @stuartfails episode 7 “Spoiler: Dexys Midnight Runners Get A Royalty Payment” part three! This section was mind bending for director @kylenewacheck and director of photography Grant Smith aka @cinesmith . The group of Stuart, Denise, Bert and Kripke ( @kevsussman @laurenlapkus @brianposehn @johnrossbowie ) were first chasing only ONE other version of themselves through different universes but we now are introduced to THIRD version of themselves in combat uniforms. Kyle and Grant created photoboards of this section using three groups action figures separated into “Our Group” “Alt Group” and “Combat Group” with the faces of the actors taped to the doll’s faces. Then, Kyle and Grant planned out each shot as if these action figures were the cast. Wides, mediums, close ups, overs etc. I took video of a small part of this shot planning session to take my own notes as I would be following the photoboard compositions to create my storyboards. The final photoboards were put together with script dialogue by Kyle’s amazing assistant, @josephinesorena . All of this work came in handy as the cast had to play three versions of themselves in different wardrobe and be coordinated with their stand-ins. Then the VFX team @jfo_404 Jason Forster and @cptmaxwell Tom Mahoney did their magic. WHEW!! #stuartfailstosavetheuniverse #multiverse #storyboard
