24 WEEKS + 2 DAYS: 400 BIRDS, 67 CRATES 🐔🥚

FROM 6 CRATES TO 9 CRATES… AND THE EGGS ARE GETTING BIGGER! 🔥

Another week at Adebayo Farm.

Our 400 pullets are now 24 weeks + 2 days and started laying at 17 weeks + 2 days.

This week:

🥚 67 crates sold
💰 ₦234,500 sales
🌾 ₦167,580 feed
🚚 ₦5,000 transportation
💊 ₦0 medication

After feed and transportation:

₦61,920 remains.

And no, that is not our final profit. Labour, water, electricity, maintenance and other expenses still exist.

The bigger lesson?

EGG SALES ≠ PROFIT.

You must understand your feed cost, production, egg size, selling price and every expense on the farm.

We are also gradually working on our fencing. No pressure. If we can buy 50 blocks this week, we buy 50. If we can buy 100 next week, we buy 100.

Little by little, the farm grows.

We started at 6 crates.

Now we are around 9 crates.

And the eggs are getting bigger.

WE ARE STILL LEARNING. ONE WEEK AT A TIME. 🔥

Sometimes, I feel like God created the world in such that humans only make profit with no costs . Poultry feeds along is about 60 to 75%. It eats the profits massively.

Would you call ₦61,920 profit, or would you still deduct other farm expenses before calling it profit?

If you had 400 layers, would you reinvest the money into expansion or take the money out of the farm?

Do you increase your egg price when the egg size improves?

What would you do first with the money from this week’s production: buy feed, buy blocks, expand the birds, or keep cash?
