Free University of Bozen-Bolzano

Last Saturday, the unibz community joined the SUNRISE Alliance (@sunrise.alliance) for the ‘One Alliance, One Forest’ walk. Students, academic staff and administrative staff came together for a shared walk through the forests of the Ritten/Renon plateau, enjoying beautiful views of the Dolomites along the way.
Along the way, our professors introduced the group to fascinating facts about the mountain environment surrounding our campuses and shared insights into unibz’s research. The walk was filled with curiosities, quizzes and moments of exchange, and ended with some well-deserved refreshments.
Meanwhile, the other eight partner universities followed routes through their own local forests. All the steps recorded were combined on a shared digital map, creating a symbolic journey across Europe and connecting the Alliance communities—even from a distance.
