@scenenoise #NewNoise: In our latest instalment of Rap of the Week, we round up the tracks cutting through the region’s rap and hip-hop landscape this week, with picks from Shbash, The Synaptik and Hala Sherif.
Moroccan rapper Tchubi delivers ‘KSSIRI’, a hard-hitting trap cut made with ONZY and lifted from his new album, A Man With a Gun. Palestinian artist Shamaly returns with ‘Too Reall’, while Lebanese rapper Billy Tstrk takes a rougher route on the abrasive, grunge-tinged ‘Ma Tensine’.
Meanwhile, Palestinian-Jordanian rapper Shbash leans into industrial textures and ominous trap on ‘System’, while Egyptian rapper Hala Sherif joins forces with Moroccan-Egyptian producer Ouella for ‘ENTA’, a drum ’n’ bass-rap hybrid that pushes her sound into more frenetic territory.
