WHEN WALLS REMEMBER
Sometime this year
@paid_rootsandroofs, a Pan-African Indigenous Skills Development Programme (PAID) initiative launched by Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC)
@cbaac77.
This project brought together creatives and architects from the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria to work on a singular project. To explore the relationship between African architecture and indigenous knowledge.
The projects were exhibited at the Kolanut gallery
@kolanutgallery.
“Rather than treating architecture as simply physical structures, the production presented buildings and communal spaces as repositories of memory; places where identity, creativity, social values and traditions are carried from one generation to the next.”
— Nigerian Tribune
