Marrakesh, Morocco.
Inside the Royal Mansour, commissioned by King Mohammed VI.

More than 1,500 Moroccan artisans and master craftsmen contributed to the hotel, working across zellige, carved cedar, sculpted plaster, brass, copper, textiles and custom-made furniture. Many of these techniques are still practiced by maâlems, the master craftsmen of Morocco, whose knowledge is traditionally passed from one generation to the next.

This week, Sotokler Studio founders Legare and Viktor are on the ground in Marrakech, sourcing vintage and antique pieces across the Medina and meeting local artisans working with these same techniques.
