POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
As 2026 gets off to a strong start, we wanted to take a moment to reintroduce ourselves and share a bit of our story.

Last year was our strongest so far. We worked closely with even more interior designers around the world, developing unique custom made furniture and sourcing rare vintage designs. Each project pushed our team further, challenged our artisans and expanded what our clients could achieve in their beautiful projects.

This year, we will continue sharing the stories of the interior designers, architects, and friends we meet along the way.

Thank you for being part of this journey,

A Hunting Chair designed by W.D. Andersag and manufactured by Ideal Piacenza, Italy, 1959.

Although relatively little is documented about Andersag himself, his Hunting Chair belongs to a longer history of campaign and safari seating. Originally developed as portable furniture, this type of chair was reinterpreted by modernist designers such as Wilhelm Kienzle in the late 1920s and Kaare Klint in the 1930s, using wooden frames and tensioned leather instead of conventional upholstery.

Andersag’s interpretation takes this tradition in a more architectural direction. Produced in Italy at the end of the 1950s, the chair reflects the period’s interest in exposed construction, natural materials and functional forms.

The structure consists of a solid teak frame with long, intersecting wooden elementi supporting a low, reclining leather seat. Thick black leather is suspended between the frame and secured through a system of leather cords threaded directly into the wood, leaving the fastening details visible.
The leather-wrapped armrests and small headrest cushion complete the design, while the natural patina of the wood and leather reveals traces of its age and use.

We playfully rendered the chair into this warm interior, imagining how this 1959 design might sit in a more contemporary setting. taken in Houston, Texas by @sotoklerstudio

Developed for a residential project for @kkbinteriors.

For this custom chandelier, we worked closely with our Murano artisans to develop three individually suspended diffusers in opaline Murano glass, each with its own irregular cloud-like profile and slightly different scale.

Each diffuser is suspended independently with natural brass fittings and thin tensioned cables, with a concealed dimmable 2700K LED source integrated inside the glass.

A large part of the development was technical. We really challenged the limits of what was doable with the Murano furnaces, particularly around the scale of the individual glass elements, to make sure we would be able to control the thickness during blowing, keeping the larger surfaces visually light, managing the weight and suspension points, and achieving a consistent opaline finish across three different handmade forms.

The suspension system and brass fittings are imagined to sit independently while reading as one composition.

We playfully rendered the design here in a different dining interior, above a dark travertine table with pale blue-beige textured plaster walls and warm timber ceilings, to explore how the scale, glass and warm light would read in another architectural setting. taken in Murano Island, Venice, Italy by @sotoklerstudio

Developed and proposed for the home office of a residential project in the Hamptons by interior designer @danielbylina

The direction for the space referenced the atmosphere of Don Draper’s office, with dark brown leather, polished metal and a strong mid-century corporate character, reinterpreted with a more contemporary approach.

We developed a series of custom desks including this bold design with a sculptural polished chrome structure and brown leather top, alongside a ceiling light in dark patinated chrome with an integrated circular light source.

Playfully rendered here against a warm wood interior, exploring the contrast between chrome, leather and timber. taken in The Hamptons by @sotoklerstudio

Marrakesh, Morocco.
Inside the Royal Mansour, commissioned by King Mohammed VI.

More than 1,500 Moroccan artisans and master craftsmen contributed to the hotel, working across zellige, carved cedar, sculpted plaster, brass, copper, textiles and custom-made furniture. Many of these techniques are still practiced by maâlems, the master craftsmen of Morocco, whose knowledge is traditionally passed from one generation to the next.

This week, Sotokler Studio founders Legare and Viktor are on the ground in Marrakech, sourcing vintage and antique pieces across the Medina and meeting local artisans working with these same techniques. taken in Marrakesh, Morocco by @sotoklerstudio

A Throne Chair by Carlo Bugatti, circa 1902, executed by A. De Vecchi & Co. in Milan.

Bugatti developed one of the most distinctive approaches to furniture at the turn of the 20th century. His work combined references to Moorish and Islamic architecture across North Africa and the Arab world, alongside Japanese design and other decorative traditions, rather than drawing from Morocco specifically.

This chair reflects many of those influences through its elongated vertical elements, almost minaret-like silhouette, geometric detailing, tassels, painted vellum and extensive use of metalwork. It is made in walnut with hand-painted vellum, pewter, brass, copper, embossed copper and silk.
The chair dates from the same period as Bugatti’s presentation at the 1902 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Arts in Turin, where his work received significant recognition. When Queen Elena of Italy reportedly described his furniture as “Moorish style,” Bugatti replied that the style was “his own”. taken in Rome, Italy by @sotoklerstudio

Developed for a residential project in South Carolina after a request from the team at @fritzporterchs, this custom daybed was designed to work equally as a generous sofa for indoor or outdoor use.

We explored several directions around the same brief before developing this version in dark walnut-stained rattan. The frame would be entirely manufactured in Italy, with the natural rattan construction, curved sections and wrapped joints all remaining visible beneath the darker finish. The cushions would also be made and upholstered in Italy, with the final fabric, density and detailing to be further refined before starting manufacturing.

This is often how we like to work on custom pieces. We first develop and render the design, then continue refining the proportions, construction details, and finishes together with the interior designer before moving into samples and production.
