LAST DAYS and last posts dedicated to a work currently on display in our 15th anniversary show, Rumours.
For the gallery’s inauguration in 2011 writer Deborah Levy wrote wonderful captions for some of the objects on display, including this one …
40. Jacques Adnet, Magazine Rack, 1940s
Iron, leather
57.7 x 29.2 x 33 cm
Exhibited in: Inauguration, 2011
Water Bird: culture, nature, industry – this swan has eaten a lawnmower: it is in part a machine. It moves quietly and slowly, but it will not be returned to water - it is returned instead to language, to the magazines and newspapers that are its wings. [Deborah Levy, caption]
Come and visit us, we are open Wednesday-Friday 11am-6pm this week!
