Ink Drinker

I really enjoyed Fallow. I listened to the audiobook and thought the narration was absolutely great. The story itself was clever and original as well as . The narrator really nailed selling each character and I will definitely be looking for more from her work as well as the author.
Characters were believable, dialogue between them was as well. The main character Natalie is working a job she dislikes, lacking dental insurance when it becomes apparent her wisdom teeth need to come out. She also doesn't particularly like working in general - so turns to plasma donation to afford her dental work.There,she is offered a different sort of job in an experimental corporate program as a long term gestational surrogate making six figures and a life of leisure, enabling working women to not require maternity leave. This is a long-term position, with a contract - Natalie becomes part of the benefits package for The Company. Of course everything doesn't go completely to plan for Natalie in her new position.
The fact that the current state of both Healthcare and women in the workforce in the United States assists in making this story almost plausible is sort of sad for us, but great for the story. This was a fun listen :)
