I know meal prep can feel overwhelming but it doesn’t have to be! I meal prep every week and it’s hands down the best way I work smarter not harder in the kitchen. By working harder one day I save myself so much time and effort in the long run. There’s so many ways you can do it too, it just depends on what you need the most. Even a small amount of meal prep is so helpful during the week! For me it was the daily dinner time stress that was hardest so I focus on that and I’ve managed to incorporate some baking as well which is amazing for lunches!
I aim for 3-4 prepped meals a week and 1-2 baking items made. I do a mix of fully cooked meals (things I can just reheat and eat!) and then partially prepped meals (batch of meatballs, marinated meat or even just some chopped veges). I’ve been doing extra prep lately to get a freezer stash which is actually the ultimate working smarter tip - taking meals I’m already prepping them and doubling. Within just a few weeks I’ve managed to get close to 30 meals in the freezer! (And 3 batches of chocolate chip cookies)
This is my third in my series on working smarter, not harder in the kitchen. Make sure you’re following so you don’t miss any:
