In 1975 the average UK house cost £11,280. Not the deposit. The whole house.

Today it's £272,751. That's 24x — and wages didn't do anything close to that.

Everyone's been saying "wait for the crash" every year since. 2008 dropped it, and it still came back higher than the peak. Those are HM Land Registry's own numbers, not mine.

The people who bought and held aren't waiting for anything.

One thing I’ll always believe is that accountability matters just as much as growth.

I’m not perfect, and I’ve never claimed to be. I’ve made mistakes, hurt people without intending to, reacted in ways I’m not proud of, and had moments where I could’ve handled things better. I’m still learning, still growing, and still working on myself, just like everyone else.

But one thing I never want to lose is the willingness to look at myself honestly. If I’ve made a mistake, I want to be able to own it. If I’ve hurt someone, I want to take responsibility for my part. And when I’m given the opportunity to make things right, I want to have the humility to do so.

Growth isn’t just about talking about kindness, healing, or being a better person. It’s about being willing to recognize the moments when we fall short of those things, too.

I hope I never become so focused on who I’m trying to be that I stop being honest about who I am today. There will always be room for me to learn, to apologize, to do better, and to grow.

We can hold ourselves accountable without hating ourselves for being human. We can acknowledge our mistakes without letting them define us. And we can choose to do better without pretending we’ve always gotten it right.

The goal isn’t to be perfect. It’s to be honest enough to grow. 🤍
