Meet Little Bean. ❤️ 16 years old, surrendered to Carson shelter by her owner with a request to euthanize her.

But her story wasn’t over. 🥹

Thanks to an incredible hospice foster who opened their heart and home, I Stand With My Pack was able to say YES to this sweet little girl.

Now we urgently need your help to raise $3,000 for Little Bean’s medical care. ❤️

Little Bean has been severely neglected. She is suffering from severe dental disease and desperately needs dental surgery, along with comprehensive senior veterinary care and attention. Without the medical treatment she needs, she will continue to live in pain.

And here’s the incredible part. ❤️

Despite being 16 years old and living with significant dental pain, Little Bean is remarkably happy, friendly, and full of love. Her little tail starts wagging the moment someone greets her, and all she wants is to be close to people.

Our amazing veterinary team believes that with this urgently needed medical care, Little Bean could go on to live a happy, healthy, pain-free life for another year or even longer. 🥹

What we initially thought would be hospice care could actually be the beginning of a beautiful new chapter for this little girl.

At 16 years old, Little Bean still has so much life and love to give. And we’re going to do everything we can to give her that chance.

Tratando de ser una mejor colombiana 🇨🇴 Episodio 1: Carne encebollada con tomate, plátanos maduros y patacones.

It’s time! I’m officially learning how to cook all the dishes I grew up loving. And we’re starting with something super easy because, bueno, por algo se empieza.

Carne encebollada con tomate

Ingredients:

● Thinly sliced steak
● 1 tsp cumin
● 1 tsp salt
● Black pepper, to taste
● Paprika
● Worcestershire sauce
● Garlic, minced
● 1 onion, sliced
● Tomatoes, chopped
● ½ cup beef broth (I used chicken broth!)
● Oil for cooking

Instructions:

1. Season your steak with cumin, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
2. Heat a little oil in a skillet and sear the steak for about 30 seconds per side. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add your sliced onions and cook for about 10 minutes until softened.
4. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, then add your tomatoes. Let everything cook until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
5. Pour in ½ cup of broth and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.
6. Add the steak back into the skillet and let it finish cooking in the sauce until cooked through.

Plátanos maduros

Peel and slice ripe yellow plantains diagonally. Fry in oil over medium heat until golden and caramelized on both sides. Remove and sprinkle with a little salt if desired.

Patacones

1. Peel green plantains and cut into thick pieces.
2. Fry until lightly golden and softened.
3. Remove and flatten each piece using two board or if you want a pataconera or the bottom of a plate.
4. Fry again until golden and crispy.
5. Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately.

Served everything with arrocito blanco, cilantro y aguacate. qué delicia 🤤
