39 years ago today Jeff and I were married. It was the one year anniversary of the day we met. Even then, I could feel we were building our story. I remember 3 days into meeting Jeff, we were having a picnic. I still remember where I was when I thought, … ‘ there was my life before Jeffrey Scott Beardsley and my life with him, going forward’ And I was so right.

We have certainly had stormy seasons in our marriage. But not only does it not detract from, but I’m proud that we have not only survived, but thrived. One of my favorite sayings I’ve come across, “have a widow’s heart while your spouse is alive.” It really makes me want to make the very most out of every day …. even 40 years later.
