Hello internet,

Scythe is going through some major internal changes that we are super excited about. I am bringing in some fresh (yet familiar!) faces to pass the torch on running the shop. Clients and artists can expect the same great atmosphere and most of the same smiling faces, but 200% more organized and more comfortable to tattoo in/get tattooed in as the shop also gets a little facelift. This new structure will allow the shop to host a couple more people beyond what I could handle by myself! So I’m hoping to link up with a couple inspiring, passionate tattooers who want to chase their creativity and have a good time while they’re doing it, we are officially hiring for the first time in years!

That brings me to the why:
After 12 years I’ve hit my wall of how much I want to put into managing a small business alone (and as an extremely Type B person), anyone who has built something like this knows how much work it is and more than ever I realize my heart is in tattooing, not running a business. The needs of the shop and its team have changed and grown beyond my capacity over the years, my friends have all seen this coming a mile away and anyone who follows me can see my personal life/art has taken a backseat for a long time as the demand on my time grew and grew. A home to tattoo and make art with friends was the whole point all along! So to get the much needed support on the back end so I can get back to my true purpose is a dream come true. I’m really looking forward to being just a tattooer/artistic collaborator/coworker who tries to bring the good vibes every day. More info will be made public as things progress!

We offer very affordable and flexible chair rental options and will also include supplies as well as equipment upgrades in the near future. We will also be creating a shop website where we can streamline client submissions & allow for artist exposure there alongside social media. Our studio is part of a lovely building community and gets walk-in traffic.👯‍♀️
