For Hollie, who’s coverup we classified as ‘nightmare level’. Swipe to see the before…I’m still not sure what she was doing..I’m just glad we don’t have to guess any more😌😌😌 #suckingonacroissant

Hello internet,

Scythe is going through some major internal changes that we are super excited about. I am bringing in some fresh (yet familiar!) faces to pass the torch on running the shop. Clients and artists can expect the same great atmosphere and most of the same smiling faces, but 200% more organized and more comfortable to tattoo in/get tattooed in as the shop also gets a little facelift. This new structure will allow the shop to host a couple more people beyond what I could handle by myself! So I’m hoping to link up with a couple inspiring, passionate tattooers who want to chase their creativity and have a good time while they’re doing it, we are officially hiring for the first time in years!

That brings me to the why:
After 12 years I’ve hit my wall of how much I want to put into managing a small business alone (and as an extremely Type B person), anyone who has built something like this knows how much work it is and more than ever I realize my heart is in tattooing, not running a business. The needs of the shop and its team have changed and grown beyond my capacity over the years, my friends have all seen this coming a mile away and anyone who follows me can see my personal life/art has taken a backseat for a long time as the demand on my time grew and grew. A home to tattoo and make art with friends was the whole point all along! So to get the much needed support on the back end so I can get back to my true purpose is a dream come true. I’m really looking forward to being just a tattooer/artistic collaborator/coworker who tries to bring the good vibes every day. More info will be made public as things progress!

We offer very affordable and flexible chair rental options and will also include supplies as well as equipment upgrades in the near future. We will also be creating a shop website where we can streamline client submissions & allow for artist exposure there alongside social media. Our studio is part of a lovely building community and gets walk-in traffic.👯‍♀️

Shoot me a DM and I’ll share all the details/answer questions to anyone interested in joining as we hit the gas!

For the late night art nerds (and for Emily) 🗡️ by @scragpie

Danielle and I were wrapping up a thigh piece when she mentioned how unhappy she was with an old half sleeve, a greyscale rearing horse that had been already been redone to try and save it…well lucky for both of us she was super open to covering it with a design that allowed for minimal laser removal. Three of my favourite things here, mums, webs and installing new confidence in what getting tattooed can feel like after someone’s had a not so fabulous experience. Swipe for before! #scytheandspade #tattoocoverups #goodguysupplyfamily #yyctattoo #healedtattoos by @scragpie

Celtic goddess of war and fate, this sleeve is littered with her symbols.
Healed and settled for a few years on @sarahtetje, who‘s collection is already all over my page! I’ll put the video in my reels to show how well it fits her from all angles. Raven wings as a border is one of my new favey tricks🐦‍⬛

We love big daddy Kratos, proof you can be a blood thirsty icon of hyper-masculinity AND have emotional depth😮
For my bud @ethosstrength, an excellent coach who understands how mangled tattooer bodies get, and with whom I hope to achieve my own Kratos-inspired fitness goals. Sam came from Australia so the pressure was on to do this piece in one-shot, thankfully he made my job easy!

🌞APOLLO🌞 God of the sun, with his sacred swan and ravens. For one of my faves @syd_danger, who is creatively brilliant and a wonderful artist. Taken on the day we did her hands so he’s fully healed and settled in her skin! 🦢

Hands up if you’ve ever gotten tattooed before your frontal lobe’s fully cooked and you made a really big decision your grown self regrets🙋🏻‍♀️
Level that expirience up by having it done by one of the most solid tattooers around (whom I would usually never consider covering a piece of his), but thank god he agreed Meagan’s punk rock phase didn’t suit her any more either, so swipe for a before/after!

🎀 Hot rococo era Frenchman of Jamie’s dreams 🎀when @quentinterrintino submits an idea I KNOW it’s gonna be good. His email said “maybe a pearl drop nipple ring if it’s not too much” and I say NEVER.
Fit into that upper-inner thigh spot that every heavily tattooed person seems to leave for last 🎀

Wild roses to frame the lovely face of @petitehannalee, a healed pic after a quick touch up, and another of her just out in the world, peeking out the way it was meant to!
Webs joining up to her sleeve which is another piece I’m super proud of but don’t have pics of *yet*
