Geelong Running Festival Half Marathon! 🏃♀️💙☀️ 1:49:58
In what is usually a solo ‘slow run day’ Sunday, Steve and I ventured to Geelong for the inaugural
@geelongrunningfestival and it was so worth it!
It was set up brilliantly and while it isn’t a flat course, the hills make this run a challenge to be conquered! A beautiful morning turned into warm conditions and the wind picked up significantly as the day wore on.. Thinking of the runners who struggled out there and a man at 18km I stopped to assist off the course. I hope you are ok and thanks to the spectators who offered to take over so I could finish the run. What a community 🙏
Congratulations to all that got out there and took it on! And a huge thank you to the volunteers who were cheering and smiling throughout, it’s so appreciated!
I had lots of fun taking in the ocean views, GMHBA stadium, city sights and Eastern Gardens. The spectators were great too. Lots of cheers and entertaining signs.
While I’m juggling some niggles post cancer treatment and stress fracture, running the hills gave me faith that I’m on the right track for NYC Marathon in November!
Until the next one… Thanks Team Brooks and my support crew 🙏❤️
