MONSTRIFICATION | BRONZE
Who decides what isn’t monstrous?
For this final look we turned to the myth of Pygmalion, ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep’ by Philip K Dick, and ‘A Hero With A Thousand Faces’ by Joseph Campbell. With the other looks, they are more fixated on the ‘monster’ itself but this look we shift our attention to the creator of those monsters. The ones who build the tests that need to be passed. Bronze was chosen for the obvious symbol of a Bronze statue, and it is the first alloy of metal made.
This look was my first one that really like crystallized for me in my mind. A bronze statue but more modern take on one. The top is 300gsm Cotton for the long sleeve shirt and faux Sherpa for the quarter zip. The pants were a fun herringbone denim I found. All of it was painted with Jacquard Metallic Textile Paint to give it that more like bronze statue effect.
