parsing through the ‘artists way’ again this year. i’m reminiscing on the last time i went through it alongside my old friend @katkavanaugh in the thick of the pandemic back in seattle.

what’s striking to me now is how closely the embracing of the inner child described by Cameron parallels the experience of excavating my identity as a trans person. what a tender and beautiful thing it is to unearth yourself, to pour yourself over fine mesh and sift - to strip away the coarseness of fear and judgement and take the softest, finest parts of yourself on with you.

if you haven’t taken the time to read or listen to The Artists Way, it’s at least worth mulling over and giving yourself the intentional space & time to play with life a little each week. your perfectionism can bring technicality and detail to your craft, but your playfulness brings magic <3
