As artists we wear many hats, but remember you’re only one person and can truly only do one thing at a time.

i’m trying to celebrate even the smallest of wins these days and i appreciate all of you sticking’ around to listen for more!

➡️ send me a dm or comment a project you’ve been working on OR maybe a little victory of yours so i can cheer you on! by @thejulianforest

in the end, the freedom we’ve sought has come at the expense of others and ourselves. it’s time to come to terms with our reality and build a new one.

parsing through the ‘artists way’ again this year. i’m reminiscing on the last time i went through it alongside my old friend @katkavanaugh in the thick of the pandemic back in seattle.

what’s striking to me now is how closely the embracing of the inner child described by Cameron parallels the experience of excavating my identity as a trans person. what a tender and beautiful thing it is to unearth yourself, to pour yourself over fine mesh and sift - to strip away the coarseness of fear and judgement and take the softest, finest parts of yourself on with you.

if you haven’t taken the time to read or listen to The Artists Way, it’s at least worth mulling over and giving yourself the intentional space & time to play with life a little each week. your perfectionism can bring technicality and detail to your craft, but your playfulness brings magic <3 by @thejulianforest

it is with so much pride that i share …

this song, so near and dear to me …

a song that dances through the twisted nature of the greed we champion in our world - a world that convinces us that we are helpless to the forces that tear us from each other.

nothing could be further from the truth. i promise you, there is hope to be had in giving our presence to one another, reimagining ourselves and beyond - here and now.
