Water and energy are often managed as separate systems. In reality, they’re deeply interconnected.

As a changing climate puts pressure on both systems, that connection becomes harder to ignore. For Los Angeles, this raises an important question: How do we build greater resilience across both systems?

Before drought comes the taking of water, doubles the effects. The Eastern Sierra where water comes from is in dire straights. We would love some of that back.

The water energy nexus is so under appreciated. These two issues are inextricably linked, and the unrestricted growth of data centers makes both the water and energy crises worse.
