Phrae, Thailand - March 2026

After my rough night, we headed south on the highway to Phrae. We checked into our hotel and the owner gave us a map of the town and kindly pointed out some of the sights we could check out. Our stay also happened to be on the weekend when a local festivity was going on. We went on a long walk through the quiet streets of the town. I did my best to stop it, but it was impossible. 20 mins later, I was again rendered useless. Simply opening my eyes would cause me to throw up. I lay on the side of the road for about an hour, spewing in gutter every 15mins. Aurelija wanted to call an ambulance. At this point a lady came out a shop and asked what was happening. I managed to suggest we ask her to drive us back to our hotel. She accepted. Our first hero of the day. I made it back without being sick and Aurelija and the kind hotel owner carried me to a room. I was sick some more, and eventual
