My first resin disaster. 😬

And when I say disaster… I mean DISASTER!!

I was exhausted. I was under pressure. I had been working on this model for nearly two months and had only 10 days left until delivery.

At 6:30am, I arrived at the workshop alone, carefully measured my epoxy, mixed it and poured it as I always do.

Except…

I had grabbed TWO HARDENER BOTTLES instead of one resin + one hardener. 🤦🏻‍♀️

And because this was a deep-pour resin, the resin was much thinner than the one I was used to working with. So I didn’t realise my mistake while mixing.

By the end of the day, I noticed a tiny puddle around the edge. I assumed it was a bad seal, tried to stop the leak using resin tape and a hot glue gun and went home.

By morning…

The temporary barrier had collapsed.
Resin had poured all over the bench and floor.
And the entire sea bed was destroyed.

Nearly two months of work. Gone.

But thankfully, it wasn’t the end of the story.
