Jamie Gunderson’s connection to Lionsbridge dates back to day one. A starter on the inaugural 2018 team, and, since 2021, as a member of the coaching staff.
Lionsbridge is proud to announce that Jamie will continue as an assistant coach in 2027. (@jgunz.3)
Jamie made 31 appearances as a Lionsbridge player from 2018 through 2022. As a coach, he has helped the club win multiple Chesapeake Division championships and USL League Two playoff berths.
Jamie is also the wildly successful head women’s soccer coach at Christopher Newport University, where he has led the Captains to NCAA Tournaments in each of his five seasons, a national championship, had an NCAA-record 84-match unbeaten run and owns a staggering career record of 93 wins, 4 losses, and 12 draws entering the 2026 season.
A Newport News native, Jamie brings a record of sustained excellence, championship experience and an authentically deep connection to the club and the community we call home.
